I AM A CHRISTIAN

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I 'm found and forgiven."

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow!

I'm a Sikh, but I'm also a staunch conservative, and politically I'd say I'm somewhere between a republican and a libertarian. Of course being a Sikh comes first then being a conservative and least important is being a republican/libertarian.

Thanks for a nice, well-written article about being a Christian, m_mash!

Personally, I am a very ecumenical nondenominational Christian.

But, overall I am not a conservative. On several moral and fiscal issues, I am very conservative. But, on many social and environmental issues my views are very liberal. I am a registered independent voter.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I am saved"
I'm whispering "I get lost!"
"That is why I chose this way."

When I say..."I am a Christian"
don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guide.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and pray for strength to carry on.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
my flaws are too visible
but God believes I'm worth it.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I seek His name.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know I'm loved.

Your article on being a christian is very good. It sounds as if you"ve had a personal encounter. Once that happens, you don't have to hope or believe in God. You know.

You was a simple sinner, but now you are a new creation tempted by ungodly things.

I recently finished writing my first book for the Lord. Title; What's God Up To?.

It ended up being a thirty day instructional prayer journal.

Results from the manuscript has been overwhelming.

Keep me in your prayers.

m_mash, I did the same thing accidentally with an email I had received and posted it. I still don't know who wrote that story.

The thoughtfulness is appreciated and someone was very kind in her note to tell me what I should have done from the get go.

It is a beautiful poem and I thank you for posting it for those of us who do not know the author.

Great article bromontana, so let's sing with a chorus resounding before us, holy is His name! A steadfast faith in God is open to liberals, conservatives, communists, fascists...and everything in between. If anything you do, you do with thanks the God, life will be good, for it was He who gave us this life! The tie that binds us all as His hands and feet is our faith and the Holy Spirit in our hearts! Again great article, and have a beautiful day :-)
